At Sutherland Farm in Bedford, Rentech installed a fully off-grid solar power solution designed to support daytime irrigation while supplying dependable stored energy to the farmhouse and workshop. Two integrated systems provide a combined 211.5 kWp of solar capacity and 140 kW of inverter capacity, delivering average monthly savings of approximately R55 000.

By reducing reliance on the utility grid, the solution lowers electricity and service costs while providing automated, reliable power tailored to the farm’s operational needs.
