IPP CASE STUDY

The Prasa Power Project

As part of a broader initiative to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability within South Africa’s transport infrastructure, PRASA commissioned the installation of a solar PV system at a major train station in KwaZulu-Natal.

Rentech was tasked with supplying and installing the solar component of the project, which included advanced photovoltaic technology and robust rooftop structures tailored to diverse surfaces.

Project Highlights:
Seamless integration across two distinct roof types.
Custom-engineered structures with secure anchoring and waterproofing.
Compliant with SANS standards.
Delivered on-time with safety-first approach.

Rentech’s turnkey solar solution for PRASA’s KZN Train Station illustrates our capability to deliver technically complex, multi-surface rooftop systems with high performance and reliability.

The project stands as a model for integrating solar energy into South Africa’s critical public infrastructure.
