IPP CASE STUDY

The Grey College Power Project

In May 2025, a 104 kWp grid-tied solar PV system was commissioned at Grey College’s swimming pool facility in Bloemfontein.

The system was designed to offset the school’s high electricity consumption from pool pumps and water heating, providing a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution.

The Grey College solar installation showcases the effectiveness of renewable energy in educational facilities. The system not only provides immediate financial savings but also contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

This project highlights how strategic solar investment can deliver measurable benefits, both economically and environmentally, for institutions with high predictable energy demands.
